Dr. James Sunday grew up in Atlanta, IL. He attended the Atlanta Grade School and then Olympia Middle and High School in Stanford. With his eye on the medical field, he received a scholarship award from the Hopedale Medical Complex in 1995. He decided to stay in the area for his college years and graduated from Illinois Wesleyan University in 1999 with a degree in Biology.
After deciding on eye care, Dr. Sunday spent the next four years in Memphis, TN working towards his doctorate in Optometry from the Southern College of Optometry. While in optometry school, he participated in two mission trips (Costa Rica and Honduras) to provide eye care to third world countries. He furthered his education while on externship at a Pediatric based private practice in Columbia, MD and at Kenner Army Hospital at Fort Lee outside of Richmond, VA.
Upon
graduation in 2003 Dr. Sunday moved back to Illinois and began
practicing optometry at various locations. After several years of
working in other offices, he is happy to finally be back in the
immediate area providing eye care services to his old friends and
new
neighbors. He looks forward to being your eye care provider for many
years to come.
We are happy to introduce Linda Thomas. She recently retired from teaching at Olympia. She is an integral part of the office and will help you along your way toward healthy vision. An area native, she is also excited to provide care to her neighbors and friends who she has known for years. Linda is also quite good at helping to pick out glasses that will help you look your best.
